Online Safety
At Snodland CEP school, the safety and wellbeing of our students in the digital world is of the utmost priority. We are committed to ensuring that children are equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the online landscape safely. Online safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Snodland Church of England Primary School. We have extensive security measures in place in school to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material. Any online safety incidents are recorded and managed in accordance with our Online Safety Policy. Online safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online.
As part of our curriculum, we implement the Project Evolve framework, which delivers comprehensive lessons on key topics such as self-image and identity, online relationships, online reputation, online bullying, managing online information, health and wellbeing, lifestyle, privacy and security, and copyright and ownership.
In addition to the Project Evolve curriculum, our pupils engage in Teach Computing lessons that further reinforce their understanding of internet safety. We also incorporate the Jigsaw PSHE scheme, which provides additional resources to help our students develop a well-rounded perspective on these critical issues. Our Digital Leaders play an essential role in promoting internet safety awareness among their peers.
To highlight these important topics, our school proudly hosts an annual Internet Safety Day. This event focuses on issues in internet safety and guides students on where to find support. Furthermore, we ensure a secure online environment through regular monitoring and filtering of our in-school technology systems, allowing our students to access digital resources safely and responsibly.
Here are some extra websites regarding Internet Safety:
CEOP (The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) delivers a multi-agency service dedicated to tackling the abuse and exploitation of children in the real and ‘e’ world. Often it is referred to as an online 999. By clicking on the button, young people and parents can get advice on a range of issues such as viruses, hacking and dealing with bullying online.

Thinkuknow.co.uk is an excellent website for finding extra information or resources about ways to stay safe online. The website provides information for all age ranges that is broken down for children, teachers and parents.
