PSHE
At Snodland Church of England Primary School, we are committed to providing a comprehensive Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education that equips our students with the essential tools for life and we recognise and value the importance that PSHE has on our children’s lives and futures. We believe that PSHE in our school prepares children with the knowledge and skills to prepare them for opportunities they may experience, now and in the future, to make safe and informed decisions, including an understanding of risk.
Our curriculum is primarily guided by the Jigsaw PSHE framework, which promotes emotional literacy, resilience and positive relationships among our pupils. In addition, we enhance our programme with specialised planning on water safety in partnership with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), ensuring our students are well-informed and safe.
The leadership of our dedicated Anti-Bullying Ambassadors plays a crucial role throughout the academic year, especially during initiatives such as Anti-Bullying Week, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all. We also adhere strictly to all governmental guidance on Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), providing parents with an overview of the RSE content for each year group prior to its introduction.
We ensure our PSHE curriculum provides children with the opportunities to develop their personal and social skills, develop emotional literacy, enable mental health, nurtures children’s positive relationships with themselves and others. Therefore teaching all children the skills to become resilient and confident individuals.
